Review: Bumble And Bumble Don’t Blow It Thick (H)Air Styler

Bumble And Bumble Don’t Blow It Thick (H)Air Styler

In an ideal world, I would flaunt a perfect blowout every single day. However, on most mornings I barely have time to dress myself and down a cup of coffee before the emails and calls start coming in. Thus, over the years my hair has learned to air-dry itself. Unfortunately, due to all the humidity, it often ends up it a big, poufy and frizzy mess by lunchtime. In an effort to tame my locks, I decided to try out a travel-sized tube of the Bumble and bumble Don’t Blow It Thick (H)Air Styler. Here is my review.

Since my hair is quite heavy and voluminous, I opted for the ‘thick’ version. However, they do have a lighter one for finer hair types too. This version comes in a cute, turquoise tube that squeezes out the formula. I quite like the packaging as I can toss it into my bag, without any fear of it leaking or breaking open. The ingredients and directions for use are printed on the back.

On the formula front, this styling cream ticks all the boxes. The cream has a slightly thick, yet weightless consistency that spreads easily through damp hair. Although the product is white in colour, it dries down instantly to an invisible finish. It has a subtle, clean scent, which dissipates over time. I usually divide my hair into 2 sections and rake a dollop of this cream into each. Since my hair naturally dries into a wavy pattern, I twist my locks and scrunch them slightly to enhance the waves. If I wash my mane at night, I wait until my strands are about 50% dry. Then, I comb the cream through my hair and leave it in braids overnight.

I’ve been using this cream for 3 months now and have been pretty impressed with the results. Whilst it doesn’t eliminate my frizz completely, it does a great job of defining my waves. Unlike several styling products, it doesn’t make my hair greasy, crunchy or flat. Instead, it leaves my locks looking soft, bouncy and touchable. On days when my flyaways are too much to handle, I use a tiny bit on dry hair to keep them at bay. What I love the most about it is that it plays up the natural texture of my hair, without changing it or weighing it down. Another great point about it is that the tube lasts for a long time. Although I’ve been using the travel-sized version quite regularly, I’m not even halfway through the tube.

Creamy, lightweight and texturizing, this product certainly lives up to its claims. If you hate exposing your locks to hot tools or just don’t have the time to do up your hair, this cream is definitely the one to own!
