Review: Ouai Hair Oil

Ouai Hair Oil

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, there’s no ignoring the Kardashian clan! Apart from their enviable shoe collection and contour skills, our nights are often spent lusting after their impressively shiny locks. Luckily, the lady behind their mane a.k.a. Jen Atkin, decided to bottle up her secret weapons and make them available to us mere mortals. Here is our review of the much-loved Ouai Hair Oil.

To our surprise, the oil came packaged in a fuss-free, transparent bottle. Honestly, given Atkin’s celebrity clientele (hi, Chrissy Teigen!), we had expected a glitzy, gold tube but the minimalistic design was a pleasant change. The attached pump dispenser pushes out the perfect amount of product, thus preventing wastage.

To really get a feel of how the oil holds up, we tested it out on both wet and dry hair. Due to the long length of our tresses, we required 3 pumps when used on wet hair, but only 1 pump on our dry locks. Unlike all the hair oils we’ve tried, this one felt light and non-greasy on application. The subtle, floral scent is also a lovely addition.

After just one use, our previously frizzy locks were transformed into that of an off-duty model. Due to the blend of oils (African Galanga, Ama and Asian Borage), our tresses felt infinitely softer and more manageable. We’ve even taken to using it as an overnight mask when our strands feel particularly parched. As a finishing oil, this baby effortlessly adds shine and tames cowlicks. It also doubles up as a heat protectant, but trust us when we say that your days of flat ironing the frizz away will be but a distant memory.

Weightless, nourishing and 100% effective, this hair oil is everything we expected and more. We can’t wait to check out the rest of the products from the brand!

Price: USD 28.00

P.S. – Did you know that Ouai is pronounced as 'way'?
