Review: Essie Nail Polish In ‘Sole Mate’

Essie Nail Polish In ‘Sole Mate’

With the advent of fall, it’s only natural that our makeup kit gravitates towards darker hues. From moody lipsticks to deep eye shadows, our seasonal beauty products have a charm of their own. Case in point, Essie’s ‘Sole Mate’. Here is our review.

Essie Nail Polish In ‘Sole Mate’

Like all the lacquers from this brand, this product comes in a transparent, glass bottle with a white cap. The cap is fitted with a slim brush with soft bristles. The exact shade name is printed on a sticker beneath the bottle.

On application, we found the formula to be a delight! The colour went on smoothly, without streaking or bubbling. ‘Sole Mate’ is a blackened plum hue with a glossy finish. One coat provides semi-opaque colour, thus we advise you to layer on another to get maximum pigmentation. The formula takes about 7 minutes to dry completely.

This colour has been on our tips for over a week now, with literally no changes! The shade has stayed as rich as the day when we applied it, without losing any of its shine. If you do tend to use your fingers a lot (hi, fellow writers!), then you may notice some chipping along the edges, which can easily be touched up.

Vampy, chic and long lasting, this nail paint is as amazing as it looks. Although it’s perfect for the following months, we know we’ll be wearing it all year round!
