Review: Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion In ‘True Liar’

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion In ‘True Liar’

Lying in one of the seven deadly sins, and according to us lipstick is the ultimate indulgence. Put them together and you get a wicked, decadent lipstick in the form of Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion in ‘True Liar’. Here is a complete review.

The liquid lipstick comes in a sleek, navy tube with a panel that shows the exact shade of the product. The real hero of this lipstick however, is the applicator. Doe-shaped, with a slight curve, this applicator went over the contours of our lips easily and reached all the inner corners and creases.

We applied the lipstick straight on to our bare lips and loved how smoothly it glided across them. Although the texture is towards the thinner end, the creamy nature of the product makes up for it. Initially the lipstick looks wet, but within a few minutes it dries down to give a satiny finish. ‘True Liar’ is a gorgeous berry shade with strong hints of purple to it. One swipe provides full and opaque coverage.

We tested this lipstick out in our monthly meetings (which involve a minimum of 3 coffees per person), and were surprised with the results. Our cup looked like it had been used to swatch this lipstick, so we expected that the colour had been wiped off entirely. However, it turns out that our lips looked exactly the same as when we first applied the product in the morning… that’s how intensely pigmented it is! The colour lasted for a good 6 hours, without settling into lines or drying our pout, and then faded into a lovely purple stain which stayed on for an additional 2 hours.

Long lasting, non-drying and bold, this liquid lipstick adds a ton of colour and dimension to our pout. We promise we aren’t lying when we say that this product is worth every bit of your money!
