Review: Nails Inc. Dirty Unicorn Nail Polish In ‘The Mane Attraction’

Nails Inc. Dirty Unicorn Nail Polish In ‘The Mane Attraction’

Officially, 2018 is the Year Of The Dog. In the beauty world however, it’s the Year Of The Unicorn! These mythical creatures have inspired so many makeup products lately – be it highlighters or eye shadows. Since we absolutely had to hop on to this glittery train, we went our purchased the Nails Inc. Dirty Unicorn Nail Polish in ‘The Mane Attraction’. Here is our review.

The polish comes in a concave, glass bottle with a chrome silver cap. Once you pull the cap off, you can see a black screw-on top to which the brush is attached. Although the brush wand is quite short, the bristles are dense and are arranged in a flat, wide design with a curved tip. The exact shade name is mentioned on a sticker at the back of the bottle.

Since the lacquer looks sparkly, we were expecting the formula to be gritty. To our pleasure, the polish went on evenly and was smooth to touch. ‘The Mane Attraction’ is a gorgeous sapphire blue with micro-shimmer particles that shift to a pinkish-purple in certain light. The glitter finish is most visible in direct sunlight. For maximum impact, we recommend applying two coats. Whilst the brand does suggest the use of a top coat, we did not find it necessary at all.

We’ve been flaunting this polish for over a week now and can’t get enough of all the compliments it has brought in! The shade-shifting effect has been a great conversation starter and looks edgy, yet chic. The best part however, is that the formula has stayed true to colour and glossy, without any chipping or dullness.

Long lasting, iridescent and undoubtedly interesting, this nail lacquer has quickly become a favourite in our office. Honestly, we feel like the badass version of a unicorn when we wear it… and that’s always a good feeling!
