Review: NARS Audacious Mascara

NARS Audacious Mascara In 'Black Moon'

Brace yourselves ladies, a beauty storm is headed your way! After launching a wildly popular range of lipsticks, lip pencils and glosses, NARS has now brought us a game-changing mascara. The newly launched Audacious Mascara promises to deliver bold, defined and amplified lashes. Since Francois Nars can do no wrong in our love-struck eyes, we headed out to Sephora to pick up a tube.

The mascara comes bottled in a black cylindrical tube. The matte casing and white lettering give the product a chic and clean look. What really sets this mascara apart though, is its brush. Bright red, rubberized and slightly larger than the standard, this brush is packed with 200 (!) hook-like bristles that catch even the tiniest of lashes.

The formula definitely lives up to the mark in terms of intensity. Ultra-black and matte, the colour is so rich that it hides the red brush completely. Another plus point is that the formula layers very well, without any clumping. One coat of this mascara gives long, fluttery and separated lashes. Two coats deliver a full, thick fringe that make us want to toss out our entire collection of false lashes immediately. We love the fact that the mascara boosts and holds the curl of our lashes, thus eliminating the need to use an eyelash curler.

Despite spending the entire day outdoors, our lashes did not require a touch-up. The colour stayed true, without any fading or smudging. Unlike most mascaras, the Audacious Mascara actually made our lashes feel softer, and not stiff or brittle.

For volumized, elongated and eye-catching lashes, reach for this mascara. Not only did it make our eyes look bigger and more defined, but also brought in a ton of compliments – and that’s never a bad thing! Francois Nars, we humbly offer all our future pay checks to you.
