Over the years, I’ve realised that my signature look always involves a cat-eye. Thus, it comes as no surprise that I have a large stash of eyeliners in my beauty closet. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have space for more! Here is my review of Stila’s Micro Tip Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.
The liner comes in a handy pen format, with a cap that clicks firmly into place to prevent the formula from drying out. The gold lettering and minimal design give the product a chic vibe. What really stands out however, is the applicator. The felt tip is much slimmer and shorter than any others I’ve seen before. It’s also much more flexible, which is great when you want to draw a flick but is a problem for regular lining as the tip tends to collapse easily.

Upon application, I found that this formula was worthy of every praise it receives. The fluid consistency ensures that the colour glides on smoothly on to the lids, without any patchiness or tugging. ‘Intense Black’ is currently the only shade in this range and is a true, inky hue with a semi-matte finish. One stroke is enough to get full pigmentation. You can even dot the formula between your lashes to tightline the area and give the illusion of thicker lashes.

After a month of testing out this product, I have mixed opinions on it. The formula stays put all day, without flaking, fading or smudging. As promised, it is waterproof and won’t run or bleed even in a heavy downpour. However, if you do have oily lids, the colour will transfer if you rub your eyes, so I recommend using a primer beforehand. Whilst the ultra-fine and soft tip is ideal for sharp wings, it proves to be a problem for when I want to line the entire lid. I’ve found that it’s best to use a regular liquid liner on my lids and this one to extend it into a crisp cat-eye.
Opaque, long lasting and precise, this liner is perfect for those who like experimenting with graphic looks or need to tightline their eyes. I’m going to save it for special occasions when I require a little extra drama.
