Skincare 101: How Much Of Each Product You Really Need!

Clockwise From The Top: 1) Bliss No 'Zit' Sherlock Serum, 2) The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask, 3) Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Cream Wash, and 4) Biotherm Hydra Detox Yeux Eye Cream

Dot on your eye cream, slather your sunscreen – we’ve heard these terms a gazillion times but do you actually know how much of each product you need to use? Using too little could prove to be ineffective, while too much could irritate your skin. To help you get your dream complexion, we’ve created a handy little guide of serving sizes!

1.     Cleanser

It may seem like you need a mountain to cleanse out all the grime but in reality you only need a bit! To cover your face you should use one pump of a foam cleanser or a pea-sized amount of gel face wash. For creamy or oil-based cleansers, opt for a cherry-sized amount.

2.     Serum

These potent products don’t need much to start working. A pea-sized dollop will give you a thin, even layer.

3.     Moisturizer

Oily, dry or combination – your skin needs hydration! During the day, spread on 2 peanut-sized squirts on to your face to keep it soft and nourished. Pamper your skin at night, with a cherry-sized amount.

4.     Eye Cream

We often forget this essential product in our daily routine. Use half a pea per eye to keep the puffiness and wrinkles at bay.

5.     Sunscreen

This is the most important product of your beauty routine! A shot glass worth of sunscreen is sufficient to keep your body protected. Just remember to re-apply every 2 hours.

How easy is that?! Print out this size chart to ensure that you are getting the most out of your products. Flawless skin, here we come!
