The Night-time Routine Of A Beauty Editor

The Night-time Routine Of A Beauty Editor

Welcome to our new series, #BedtimeWithGG, where we explore the products that our writers use every night. In this series, you will find real product recommendations and a few nifty tricks to make the most of your beauty sleep. First up, we have our Managing Editor’s night-time routine.

I’m a self-confessed product junkie. From masks to lipsticks, there’s not a product out there that I won’t try. This often results in me testing out several products during the week, which in turn can take a toll on my skin. However, all that testing has a major benefit – I’ve finally figured out which products actually work for my skin! Here are the few that I use every regularly.

1. Dr. Jart+ Trans-foam Clay Pink

My skin is textbook combination. This multi-functioning tube works really well as a mask to unclog my pores and provide hydration. Once the requisite 20 minutes pass, I add a little water so that it transforms into a cleanser that washes off all my makeup.

2. Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask With Rose Clay

Face masks are a weakness of mine. I usually have a couple in rotation, but find myself reaching for this one quite often. Apart from making my face feel as smooth as a baby’s butt, it also calms down any inflamed zits.

3. Sunday Riley Good Genes

The night before any important event, I always turn to this Holy Grail treatment. Since my skin can handle AHAs without any major flare ups (*knock on wood*), I leave it on overnight. The next morning, I spend a few minutes preening at my glowing, plumped up complexion.

4. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

If there’s one thing I’m diligent about, it’s moisturizing. This lightweight gel hydrates my face, without making it feel weighed down or greasy. Unless I’m using Good Genes, I make it a point to apply this 30 seconds after washing my face. I find that this little trick really makes a difference in sealing all the water in.

5. Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm

When you spend hours squinting at a laptop screen, it’s easy to get paranoid about wrinkles. This caffeine-infused balm makes my eyes look less puffy and brightens up any under-eye circles. I’ve even started using it on the delicate area above my lips to stop the formation of any fine lines.
