Review: Nudestix Nude Metallics Kit (Smoke, Burnish, Nudity)

Nudestix Nude Metallics Kit (Smoke, Burnish, Nudity)

If I had to sum up my aesthetic in a few words, I would definitely say ‘easy glam’. As a result, I’m always on the lookout for products that will give me stunning results, without too much prep and prime. Since eye shadow sticks fit this description perfectly, I couldn’t resist picking up the Nudestix Nude Metallics Kit. Here is my review.

The kit comes in an embossed, metal box and features 3 miniature products inside it. Each pencil comes in the form of a chubby crayon and has a firm, black cap to keep the formula from drying out. The shade name is mentioned on the side of the pencil, whilst a colour band at the bottom showcases the exact hue inside. The little details, such as the attached mirror and accompanying sharpener, show that the brand has put real thought behind the product. The box also features a pamphlet of instructions.

Upon application, I found that all 3 pencils were pretty similar. The soft and creamy texture ensured that the colours glided on smoothly, without tugging at my lids. The coverage is buildable, however, you need to work quickly to layer and blend the formulas in as they dry down and set in within a minute. ‘Smoke’, is a deep, metallic taupe, ‘Burnish’ is a rich, shimmery bronze and ‘Nudity’ is a light, metallic rose gold. Each shade required 2 coats to achieve full opacity and delivered a beautiful, luminous finish.

As an oily-lidded girl, I’m always wary of cream shadows. However, these did not budge from my lids for over 8 hours – and that too without a primer! The shadows stayed true and radiant, without flaking or smudging, which is a massive plus in my books. To test out the waterproof claim, I’ve subjected these to downpours and showers and have been shocked at the fact that these babies do not move at all. They do come off easily with an oil-based remover though, so you don’t need to worry about pulling at your skin.

Long-lasting, pigmented and easy to use, these pencils are a dream come true for me. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever find a formula that works as good as this one does!
