Review: Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Cream

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Cream

Over the past few months, I really put my skin through the wringer. Not only was I hopping from one flight to another, but I also wasn’t being particular with my food and sleep habits. As if the above wasn’t enough, I also began using strong exfoliants several times a week in an effort to deal with my clogged pores. So, it shouldn’t have been a surprise when my skin finally gave up. From red, irritated patches to flaky skin, my face literally burned when I applied something as innocuous as water on it. After one tearful, transatlantic phone call to my dermatologist, I set out to Sephora in the hopes of finding something that could heal my stressed out skin. After perusing the aisles for about an hour, I finally settled on the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Cream. Here is my review.

The cream comes in a metal, squeezable tube with a twist key. I recommend using the key only when you get to the very end of the tube, as it tends to push out a lot of product and can cause wastage. The directions for use are printed on the back of the tube, whilst the list of ingredients has been mentioned on the accompanying box.

On the formula front, this product feels quite like a heavy emollient. The thick, creamy texture didn’t spread easily at first and left a greasy, occlusive film on my face. However, after reading the instructions, I now press the formula in with my palms. The warmth of my hands literally pushes the product into my skin and helps it absorb easily. Whilst the cream looks yellowish-green when it comes out of the tube, it goes on invisibly. The product does have a light, medicinal scent to it which dissipates after a few minutes.

Rumour has it that Asian Tigers rolled around in Centella Asiatica (a key ingredient in this cream) to heal their wounds. Honestly, I totally believe this! After using this cream every night for 3 weeks, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! Not only has it deeply moisturized my skin, but it has also calmed down the itching sensation and eased up some of the redness. My skin actually feels softer, smoother and stronger. Whilst it hasn’t healed any active zits, it hasn’t caused them to flare up further either.

Soothing, creamy and restorative, this cream is definitely worth every penny. Whilst I do find it a tad too heavy for daily use, I’ve taken to carrying it on flights to get that extra dose of hydration. Plus, it’s reassuring to know that this baby has my back in case I misbehave with my skin again!
