Review: L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Exfoliate & Refining Mask

L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Exfoliate & Refining Mask

If you’ve been following us for a while, you will have noticed that we are complete mask-a-holics! From deep cleansing formulas to ones for smoother skin, there isn’t a mask we haven’t tried (and loved). Although our addiction doesn’t need more fuel, we couldn’t help ourselves from purchasing the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Exfoliate & Refining Mask. Here is our review.

The mask comes packaged in a weighted glass jar with a green cap. The transparent jar is a plus as you can see the peach colour of the formula inside. However, it is rather difficult to carry this mask whilst travelling as it is on heavier side and can break in your bag. The ingredients (mainly 3 clays and red algae extract) and directions for use are mentioned on the accompanying box.

As instructed, we applied a thin layer of the product onto our freshly cleansed skin. The thick and creamy consistency allowed the mask to go on smoothly and evenly across our face. Whilst the fomula does have a bit of grit to it due to the presence of granules, we did not find the mask harsh at all. In fact, it gave off a pleasant, cooling sensation on application. Although it was quite viscous, it only took the formula about 10-12 minutes to dry down completely. On the downside, the mask does have a fragrance to it, which can be irritating to those who are sensitive to certain smells.

Our reason for picking up this mask was that it promised to solve a host of issues, ranging from clogged pores to dead skin. After using it a couple of times, we can confidently state that this baby lives up to its promises! Not only does our face look instantly brighter after rinsing off the mask, but our pores look smaller and less visible. The granules also help in exfoliating and buffing off any flakes and dry spots. Whilst it does not cure a zit overnight (insert sad emoji), it did speed up the healing process of a few whiteheads. The biggest plus however, is that unlike several kaolin-based masks, this one did not dry out our skin at all.

If you dealing with uneven texture and dullness, this is the mask we’d recommend for you. Try it on to see the results yourself!
