Review: Moroccanoil Clarifying Shampoo

Moroccanoil Clarifying Shampoo

From laps in the pool to dips in the ocean, summer 2017 has been a great one for our minds. Our hair however, is another story! Due to the large amounts of chlorine, salt and anti-frizz sprays we’ve been using, our tresses have gotten duller with all the build-up. To remedy this situation, we went and got ourselves a few bottles of Moroccanoil’s Clarifying Shampoo. Here is our review.

The shampoo comes packaged in a cheerful, turquoise bottle with a white cap. The crisp print and minimalistic format make it easy to read the ingredients and directions, which are printed on the back.

As per the directions, we massaged our scalps with the shampoo, adding more water as we went along. The thin consistency ensured that the formula was evenly distributed through our locks. Although it is sulphate-free, the product still formed a fair amount of lather. On the downside, the shampoo has quite a strong, chemical scent, which can bother a few people.

We’ve been using this shampoo once every fortnight and have been impressed with the results. After just one use, our hair felt lighter and infinitely cleaner. Over the weeks, we’ve noticed that our scalps are less irritated and our hair feels rejuvenated. However, the formula stripped away some of the moisture from our mane, so we advise against using it if your hair is on the drier side. Also, do not use this shampoo to enhance shine or volume – as promised, all it does it remove all the build-up and dirt.

Whilst this shampoo is definitely not made for daily usage, it works marvellously well to reset your hair. Remember to follow up with a hydrating conditioner to keep your locks in top shape.
