Ouai Soft Mousse
Over the years, I’ve always worn my hair down. Lately though, I’ve been inspired to try out different hairdos. Since textured ponytails are one of my favourite styles to wear, I wanted to get my hands on a product that would keep my ponytail perky and tousled. After a bit of research, I found myself picking up a bottle of Ouai’s Soft Mousse. Here is my review.
The mousse comes packaged in a metal, aerosol can with a nozzle that dispenses the formula. The silver and white colour scheme gives off a really chic and professional vibe that I absolutely love. The directions for use and ingredients are printed on the back of the bottle.

Initially, when I came across this product, I was worried that it would leave my hair sticky, crunchy and stiff like many mousses have in the past. As it turns out, I had nothing to worry about! As soon as the product pumped out of the nozzle, I could see that it had a lightweight, airy texture. Within a few seconds it puffed up to a sizeable amount and was ready to be applied. As instructed, I worked it through my damp locks and was surprised to see that it literally left no residue behind. Although my palms did feel a tad sticky, my hair felt the same as before. I only required a pump to cover my mid-length tresses. Another major positive of the formula is the scent. With notes of bergamot, blackberry, sandalwood and white musk, the fragrance made me feel like I had spritzed a fancy perfume through my hair.
Ouai Soft Mousse
I’ve been using this product for over a month now and can safely say that it has become a hair styling staple for me. On damp hair, it works brilliantly to provide a touch of volume and lots of definition to my waves. When used on dry hair, it does a great job of tamping down on frizz. I love how it makes my strands look soft and touchable, without weighing them down at all. Whilst I primarily use it when I’m doing up my hair in a ponytail, I’ve found that it’s great for when I want to air-dry my hair too. The only downside is that it doesn’t provide gravity-defying volume as advertised. This isn’t really too much of an issue for me, but can prove to be so for those with fine or limp manes.
Weightless, non-sticky and easy to use, this mousse definitely stands out from the rest. With the incredible results I’ve had with this product and the hair oil, it’s safe to say that I’ll be trying out more stuff from Ouai!
