Review: It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder SPF 50+ In 'Medium'

Changing our skincare routines with the season is quite a common thing. However, we don’t often talk about how we need to switch up our makeup regimes too! Since I live in a climate that boasts of hot and humid summers, I’m always on the lookout for lightweight formulas to wear during these months. Thus, when I came across the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder SPF 50+, I was intrigued. Here is my review of the shade ‘Medium’.

Like many powder foundations, this one too comes housed in a round, plastic compact with a secure lid. The holographic silver colour scheme looks very chic and gives the product a luxurious feel. The inside contains a good-sized mirror and two compartments. The upper one holds the formula, whilst the lower one has space to store the accompanying sponge. The exact shade name is printed on a sticker beneath the compact.

In terms of formula, this was a delight to work with. The powder went on silkily and seamlessly, without settling into pores or emphasizing my fine lines. Rather than using the sponge, I took the brand’s advice and applied the formula with a fluffy powder brush. ‘Medium’ is a beige shade with mild pink undertones. Although the formula is marketed to be sheer to full coverage, I find that even after a few layers it only provides light to medium coverage.

I’ve been wearing this powder for weeks now and have fallen in love with it. The colour stays put for 5 hours, despite the soaring temperatures, without clumping or fading. In fact, the formula actually looks better once the day goes on as the powder mixes with the skin’s natural oils to give a natural finish. Since the compact comes with a sponge and mirror, it’s also easy to touch-up on the go. The biggest plus however, is the blurring properties of the formula. In just a few sweeps, my face looks smoother and more even-toned. I’ve also used it as a setting powder over the brand’s CC+ Cream and have found that it extends the wear of my base makeup by quite a few hours. However, if you do have dry skin I suggest staying away as the powder is a little mattifying.

Weightless, velvety and easy to use, this powder is ideal for those who love natural-looking makeup. Since it contains SPF, I’ve been using it regularly to get a little tint and lots of protection. The only thing I wish for is that the brand extends its shade range with this powder. Currently, there are only 5 hues available. Other than that, this baby is totally worth it!
