As much as I love my matte lipsticks, winter always comes by and reminds me not to wear them when the weather dips. Since my lips are perpetually chapped and flaky during this season, I’m always on the hunt for something that will keep my pout hydrated and colourful. Luckily for me, my mother gifted me a tube of the Sisley Paris Phyto-Lip Twist in ‘9 Chestnut’. Here is my review.
Unlike traditional lipsticks and pencils, this product comes in the shape of a chubby, twist-up crayon. The chic, zebra packaging goes well with the luxurious vibe that the brand gives off and looks great on my vanity. The exact shade name is mentioned on a sticker beneath the tube.
On the formula front, this product can probably be compared to a tinted lip balm. The creamy consistency ensures that the colour goes on smoothly and evenly. ‘9 Chestnut’ is a beautiful, rosy brown hue with a soft, glossy finish. The pigmentation is semi-opaque but since the formula layers well, you can add more coats to deepen the colour. It has no scent or taste to it.
I’ve pretty much worn this shade for 2 months straight and quite frankly, I’m obsessed it with! Whilst the wear time isn’t all that great (about 3-4 hours), it has served my pout very well. Even though my lips are pretty parched, the formula never tugs at them or enhances any dry patches. In fact, it does a great job at keeping my lips hydrated and protected. Another major plus point is that the product never feels sticky or heavy like so many balms do. However, if you do plan on wearing it out to lunch, be sure to keep the tube handy to touch-up the colour.
Weightless, smooth and moisturizing, this lip colour is everything that I had wished it to be. Although it definitely qualifies as a splurge, there’s no denying that it feels as luxurious as it looks!
