Review: Kerastase Elixir Ultime

Kerastase Elixir Ultime

Usually, when a bunch of beauty editors get together, mayhem ensues! Since all of us have vastly different skin tones, hair textures and problems, it is extremely rare to find a product that suits all of us. So, when 3 different editors raved about Kerastase’s Elixir Ultime, we knew we had a winner. Here is our review.

The product comes packaged in a pretty gold, plastic bottle and a pump dispenser. The reflective sticker on the back gives the bottle a cool, luxurious vibe. Since we can’t move around without one of these in our bags, the clickable cap is a huge bonus.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime

Formulated with a blend of 4 oils – maize, camelia, argan and pracaxi, this oil can be used as a pre-cleansing treatment or as a styling serum. In the name of true testing, we tried it out as both. 2 pumps were sufficient to cover up our shoulder length locks. The oil went on colourlessly and was absorbed within a minute, leaving no residue. On freshly washed hair, it added a nice sheen. The light fragrance is extremely pleasant and brought in a ton of compliments.

Did the product make our hair softer? Undoubtedly. Did it boost the shine? 100%. Did it make us want to rush over and buy every bottle available? Absolutely! We love the fact that unlike other oils and serums, this elixir has never weighed our hair down – even after multiple uses. This oil is also perfect to keep mid-day frizz and flyaways in place. The only downside, is that the product contains silicones.

For hair that is worthy of a magazine cover, reach for Kerastase’s Elixir Ultime. No matter whether you flaunt rockstar curls or poker straight locks, this oil is guaranteed to give you the best hair you have ever had.
